Namsangol Hanok village is in the centre of Seoul, but it’s a good place to explore for an hour. Starfield library, however, stole most of my day. A two level space that fills the centre of a mall, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon. Preferably with a slice of cake midway.

Went on a fabulous trip to Andong – went to Hahoe folk village which was great to explore, from the 600+ year old tree, the historic hanok buildings, and the traditional mask dance. It was a good trip from Seoul. Plus the Andong Jjimdak (braised chicken with vegetables) was one of my favourite meals I had this time. Absolutely huge dish shared by four of us.

Gwangjang market was such a good place to try out different foods. So tasty and so cheap. Insadong is also great place for food and shopping. I love the stamp I made, despite being terrible at crafting. I’m sending so much mail now just to use it!

A few shots from around Seoul – Dongdaemun Design Plaza, shopping in Myeongdong, then I found a Halloween themed restaurant in Daehakro before I saw the musical 22 years 2 months featuring another favourite singer of mine.

My understanding of Korean struggled in this one, but I followed the plot and the amazing singing and live orchestra more than made up for me missing some of the dialogue.

I was lucky that one of my favourite singers was in a musical while I was visiting Seoul. Junhee played the lead Galileo for the Queen musical "We Will Rock You". My Korean was good enough that I understood the plot and the dialogue/lyrics, but the lively acting and songs made the plot clear anyway. I ended up going a couple of times and made some great friends too. Plus the cast themselves were really talented, lovely and so friendly afterwards.

If you`re in Seoul before the end of the year, I recommend checking out “We Will Rock You!"

I chose the best day to visit Namsan park, sunny and warm, but possibly the worst for all the stairs up to N Seoul tower. Worth it, though! Absolutely iconic landmark and such a good view over the city.

I have been writing a lot about jewellery, so I was fascinated by this collection in the National Museum. I spent most of the day there, and in the nearby National Hangeul Museum. Then treated myself to some mandu from a Michelin rated shop near my hotel. I may have visited there a few more times…
