Work-In-Progress Name: Phoenix Reborn
Genre: Space opera
Starting Status: Super loose first draft of the first two-thirds of the novel is done*. My goal for the six week write-a-thon is to fix all the [FIX THIS HERE] notes and get the novel ready to send to beta readers/my agent.
Week One Progress:
It’s been a little while since my collaborator and I created the novel and wrote out the first part of the novel. I took the first half of the week to go through new ideas, notes, and changes and figure out how they would affect the novel. The novel bible is now a solid, detailed document! (This means I remembered Jericho’s surname).
Examples of my detailed and super useful bible notes:
- all randomish for now
- irridescent exoskeleton mother of pearl
The latter part of the week I edited in these changes. I’m partway through chapter ten, which feels like good progress.
Malka had never deliberately brought any living creatures to their station, but over time and many bouts of illegal animal smuggling, the station had gained small flocks of tiny songbirds that flitted between the plasteel beams. They lived off the insects that plagued the station’s bioluminescent trees and oxygen vines. This was the kind of synchronicity that Malka loved.
Please feel free to sponsor me! : My goals.
* I like to write out the first two thirds with a loosely plotted ending. Then on the next drafts of the early parts, I find the ending solidifies and I’ll write the final third.**
** Not exact thirds
